Attn:  Charles “ Chuck”  Gains

Dear Chuck,

I hope this letter finds you well, and enjoying the weekend/Holiday.  Please share this letter of appreciation with the rest of the Board of Directors  and the membership of ARPA.

The Arkansas Youth Hunter Education Challenge was held June 8-10 at the C.A. Vines 4-H Center in Little Rock.  We had a great group of youth attend the competition.  It was very exciting to see several new teams of youth attending the competition.  Weather cooperated with us and each of the eight events went off without any issues or problems.   We awarded over 300 trophies, plus dozens of awards and other door prizes.  The top 3 Junior Teams and top 3 Senior Teams won their registration fee paid to attend the NRA’s National YHEC later this month.  While YHEC is starting to wrap up for the 2017 season, we will start preparing for 2018 YHEC News

in early September as teams start reorganizing and preparing for next year.

I want to thank The Arkansas  Rifle and Pistol Association for its support of YHEC.  I know that the Arkansas YHEC Program and several of the county teams depend on ARPA’s assistance in receiving their grant funds from the NRA Grant Program.   While it may not sound like much, it does help us immensely using ARPA’s 501(c) Status to receive the funds.   Without your support several of the teams  would not easily  be able to get their funding approved and sent to them.  I am sure as teams start up again in the fall and start their NRA Grant Program process, they will also want to use your help again.  So from all of us “Thank You” for the support of youth and shooting sports in Arkansas.

We have about 60 youth that will be attending the NRA’S National Match at the Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico at the end of the month.  With coaches, parents, volunteers and family/friends we have over 160 people representing Arkansas at the event. To help with expenses YHEC is providing the meals for all these people for 4 days, so Tina and I are very busy getting donations together and  everything ready to go to New Mexico.  Our youth are among some of the best competitors in the nation today, so we are expecting to bring back some trophies and awards for Arkansas.  Please wish us well.

Once again my thanks to Arkansas Rifle and Pistol Association for your support.

Sincerely,

Gary Jobe

State Director, Arkansas Youth Hunter Education Challenge
